Madhapur: Viswanatha Kutumba Rao, working as a Sanskrit lecturer for the past 24 years, has trained over one lakh students in both English and Sanskrit languages.

Having started with a group of 5 students, Kumtumba Rao now trains more than 1,000 students every day through his online site upakari.com. He also trains students in classroom and social sites (Skype/Whatsapp) for free.

Kutumbao Rao pursued MA and PhD in Sanskrit in Vijayawada and reached Hyderabad in 2013. He has since been teaching languages to underprivileged students with a vision "to make every student of Hyderabad capable of speaking English."

Initially, he trained students in schools and colleges during tutorials. After receiving the tremendous response from students to learn English, he started conducting camps in government schools and later he expanded his services online to reach many students in need. So far, Kutumba Rao has conducted 25 camps in Hyderabad and 5-10 camps in villages of Telangana.

"All I have is enough skills to fill one's brain with knowledge. Students are curious to learn English and most of the students who approach me are from government schools and I never felt I should ask for fees because they might not afford and I wish money must not be a barrier for quality education. It is a great pleasure to educate them," says Kutumba Rao.

'Andariki Anglam,' a Spoken English book written by him for Classes 1 to 10 students was distributed to several underprivileged students in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. Rao has written three books on spoken English, 'Andariki Anglam,' 'Ultimate English' and 'Upakari's Spoken English.' He also distributed 6,000 copies of books. Among 6000 copies, 3000 copies were sponsored by different people for book print and 3000 copies were distributed by him.

Rao is working as a Sanskrit teacher in Narayana College, Madhapur. He takes out his personal time for his noble cause. He trains students online from 8 am to 12 noon, and later in the evening from 4 pm to 8 pm. Anyone who is willing to learn English or Sanskrit can learn through his site Upakari.com – anytime anywhere.
