GHMC election 2020: BJP workers attack TRS cadre on last day of campaigning

BJP workers attacked TRS cadre on Sunday night at Singareni colony when the latter was returning after a political meeting. Two persons are said to have injured in the attack. The police rushed to the spot after being alerted and shifted the injured persons to a hospital dispersing BJP workers.

Similar incidents of TRS cadre being attacked by the BJP workers have been reported from various places in the city.

At Golconda Taramati Baradari area, a group of BJP workers attempted to attack a TRS leader when the latter went for a cup of tea at a roadside hotel. The BJP workers questioned the leader Yakoob Reddy and his gunman who was present with him at the spot. On a receipt of information, the Golconda police reached the spot and dispersed the crowd from the place.

BJP leader arrested

BJP district urban president Pannala Harish Reddy was arrested on Sunday night after he staged a protest for inspecting the vehicle of a BJP leader on JNTU road. He alleged the police are biased towards the ruling party.

Harish Reddy suffered injuries in a clash while he was being shifted to the police station. He was sent to a private hospital.
