Secunderabad: Members of Mudhiraj Welfare Association of Malkajgiri paid tributes to Telangana martyr Kishtaiah Mudhiraj at Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Clock Tower here on Sunday.

Kishtaiah Mudhiraj, a police constable, was the first martyr in the second phase of Telangana agitation. Fed up with the police atrocities and repressive stance of Andhra rulers, he committed suicide on December 1, 2009 by shooting himself with his service revolver. Recalling the agitation days and the circumstances that led the police constable to commit suicide, the representatives of the Mudhiraj welfare association paid rich tributes to the martyr.

Among those who paid tributes to the martyr include president of the association Tummala Ravinder Mudhiraj, senior advisors Neelam Satyanarayana Mudhiraj, Potlakayala Venkatesh Mudhiraj, members Sai Kumar, Satyanarayana, Narsimha, Rajender, D Raju, Sai, Devender, Nikhil, Rahul and others.
