Hyderabad Art Society re-elects office-bearers
The Hyderabad Art Society at its general body election held Sunday, M V Ramana Reddy panel was elected unanimously for the second time. In the 80 years of HAS history, this is the second time a complete panel has been elected unanimously.

The Society comprises 400 artists. M V Ramana Reddy who has been elected the president of HAS stated in a press release that they would be planning for an 'International Art Festival' in Hyderabad for a period of one month by involving all artists, art critiques, art lovers, art institutes, art galleries by organising numerous art events.
They will will collaborate with art connoisseurs, corporate companies, government institutions etc. They have decided to introduce online application process to our popular annual art event 'All India Art Exhibition' from this year onwards.
HAS played a greater role in bringing the artists of the region and the nation together. It has organised several art events and art camps, integrating younger talents. Some of the activities it undertook between 2015 and 2018 are as follows: 'ARTFETE' an exhibition with 110 artists at Muse at Gallery; 76th to 78th All India Art Exhibitions between 2016 and 2019; increase in awards from one medal to three medals (Gold, Silver & Bronze) along with cash prizes of Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
It has also encouraged art lovers to offer 10 to 15 awards between Rs 10,000 and RS 25,000. It celebrated week-long platinum celebrations of Hyderabad Art Society in 2016. It even organised an International Woman Artist Camp with 40 artists.
'Hyderabad Art Society' was established in 1941. It is one of the oldest and leading art organisations of India. It has been a big platform for the artists of country. Eminent artists such as M F Hussain, Ramkinker Baiji, Akbar Padmasee, Bimal Das Gupta, KS Kulkarni, V S Gaitonde, K H Ara, Nandanlal Bose, N S Bendre, K K Hebber, Jyothi Bhatt, P V Janikiram, Shantio Dave, Krishen Khanna and many more artists participated in Hyderabad Art Society's annual art exhibitions and won awards.
HAS also gave platform to the eminent artists of our region like P T Reddy, Kondpalli Seshagiri Rao, K Rajaiah, V Madhusudhan Rao, P R Raju, Gouri Shankar, Surya Prakash, Reddeppa Naidu, Vasudev Kapatral, Syed Bin Mohammed, Laxma Goud, Suryaprakash and T Vaikuntam.
The office-bearers are: M. V. Ramana Reddy (president); Jageti Venkateshwarlu (hon. secretary); S Kantha Reddy and Gurram Mallesham (joint secretaries); Rajender Nagula (hon. treasurer); Kandi Narsimlu, Kappari Kishan, Gangji Ramesh Kumar, N Amila Reddy, A Sampath Reddy, Rajeshwar Nyalapally, M Balraj, Bala Bhakta Raju and Annarapu Narender (executive members). Co-opt members are Prof Srinivasa Chary, G Ranga Reddy, Tuljanand Manik and Ponna Rajender Kumar.
