Hyderabad : No new vehicles, no new building for the CM’s residence, no unnecessary expenditure on infrastructure for official purposes. The state government will observe strict austerity measures to see that the state budget is back on track and is able to face fiscal challenges for the next financial year. This decision was taken by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday.

In an informal interaction with the media, Revanth said he has decided to use the present set vehicles which were used by his predecessor and has also decided to cut down on the number of vehicles in his convoy.

The Chief Minister is planning to develop the existing Praja Bhavan as the ‘multipurpose’ official building. The CMO office of KCR in the Pragati Bhavan will be converted as the new CM camp office.

The two other buildings at the entrance of the Praja Bhavan (constructed during Chief Minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy’s regime) will be used as a guest house for Congress MPs coming from outside Telangana and another building would be used for students’ grievance cell.

KCR’s official residence in Praja Bhavan has been allotted to Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for residential purposes. He has performed house-warming ceremony on Thursday and moved into the house.

The proposal to construct a facility to host informal meetings with Ministers, MLAs and senior officials at the MCR HRD Institute of Telangana was under consideration, Revanth said. The new facility at the MCR HRD Institute will help spend some valuable time with lawmakers and officials, he added.

Revanth also said that the government has conducted a study on power supply to the farming sector and found that the previous government provided only 12-hour power. The BRS government’s claim that power was supplied round the clock was not true. They had only provided uninterrupted power.
