The denizens seem to be angry with the sitting corporators of the ruling party as many of them had lost the elections. The anger of the people can be gauged from the fact that out of the 72 sitting corporators who were given tickets 44 of them lost the election. Apart from the functioning of the corporators, their response during the floods had also made people angry over them.

Some of the corporators of the ruling party had faced allegations of corruption, encroachments, threatening during their tenure. Their behaviour with the people in their localities had gone viral in the social media. There were allegations against some corporators for using the GHMC staff for their personal use.

The party leaders had apprehended about the role of the corporators during the elections. "The people are happy with the government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao but the functioning of the corporators is only the problem the party is facing," a senior leader of the party had expressed with the reporters during the campaign time. The leader said that the corporators made mistakes like going to the construction sites and demanding money from them, this would make people angry. People will honour even if you don't serve them but they will not tolerate demanding money, said the TRS leader.

The party had succeeded in places where the candidate was changed. The party won in 20 out of 27 divisions in which the candidate was changed. The Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao Goud changed candidates in four divisions and gave ticket to only one sitting corporator in his constituency and all the five candidates won in the division.

It is said that the TRS leadership did not heed to the requests of the MLAs in few constituencies. Some MLAs including LB Nagar MLA Sudheer Reddy wanted to change the candidates but the party gave it to the sitting corporators and the BJP swept all the divisions in the constituency. The party would discuss all the issues including the effect of functioning of the corporators in the internal meetings, said the TRS leader.
