Hyderabad: The TRS plenary is set to witness the unveiling of 'KCR's Vision' for the next 20 years. The party chief, K Chandrasekhar Rao, is likely to make some important announcements regard the organisational structure to strengthen the party and some new welfare and developmental programmes with an eye on the 2023 elections.

Party sources said that in wake of the experiences the party had encountered during the campaign for Huzurabad by-elections, TRS chief is keen to further consolidate the strength of the party and have a strong cadre like the Dravidian parties -- DMK and AIADMK -- so that the two national parties BJP and Congress will not be able to emerge as an alternative to TRS.

KCR wanted to keep his party as an invincible political outfit for next 20 years. He is also likely to announce more responsibilities to the district and mandal-level party committees. KCR will take a decision on filling the nominated posts during the plenary as several senior leaders were waiting for the past three years. Speculation on the finalisation of the leaders' names to fill the vacant six MLC posts under MLA quota is also doing rounds. TRS Political Resolution Committee in-charge and former Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary will be one among the shortlisted candidates. TRS senior leaders and former ministers, Tummala Nageshwar Rao and Kadiyam Srihari, are also in the race.

Besides, the Chief Minister is expected to announce some more schemes benefitting some caste groups. It may be recalled that he had already hinted at launching Dalit Bandhu-type schemes for weaker sections among other communities as well.

Sources said that community-based welfare programmes will be accorded top priority. New schemes for the welfare of Backward Classes (BCs) and Tribals are already under consideration. Sources said KCR will explain in detail during the plenary how the State has been transforming into 'Bangaru Telangana' and the party's vision to make the State the best destination for all-round development and achieve inclusive growth in the next two decades. The TRS chief will present a fact-sheet on the development of Telangana since the formation of the State.
