On Saturday Hyderabad sees a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees Celsius, showing signs of winter transition

Hyderabad: The city is already experiencing a glimpse of what could be in store during the next few months with day temperatures beginning to skyrocket well before the real summer has arrived.

The city reported a 33.4 degrees Celsius maximum temperature on Saturday. The day temperatures have risen by two degrees over the last two days, from 31.8 degrees Celsius Thursday to 33.4 degrees Celsius Saturday. Unless there is something to go by with the prevailing weather conditions in the city throughout the day, summer is expected to arrive well ahead of previous years, and very strongly so.

The highest maximum temperature recorded at LB Nagar during the last 24 hours was 35.6 degrees Celsius, according to the Telangana State Development Planning Society. The forecast said the weather would be largely dry for the next three days.

The winter-to-summer change occurs generally towards the end of February each year. Winter is already making way for summer, though, going by the prevailing conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad normally experiences hot and dry weather conditions in March and, with summer peaking by May, there would be a gradual change in weather conditions from April on.

Skymet, a private weather forecast service, said clear skies and bright sunshine have triggered temperature rises. "Nonetheless, during the morning and evening hours, a certain winter chill has persisted in the area, and from Sunday, southeastern winds will start blowing in the area, and even night temperatures will increase," they said.
