Uma Nagar: The Uma Nagar Residents Welfare Association at their annual general body meeting on Sunday elected new office-bearers. The new panel sought more cooperation and participation in voluntary activities for a better life to the residents of the colony.

The elected members are: Capt. Manohar Sharma (President); SP Jaswal (Sr. Vice President); SR Jaishankar (Vice President); Dhimeer Mehta (Vice President); Padma Balachandran (Gen Secretary); Praveen Bhargava (Joint Secretary); Sangamitra Malik (Joint Secretary); Sita Alluri (Treasurer); and Kiran Patel (Joint Treasurer). The AGM was followed by the cultural programme performed by the children enacting the Ramayana. A song on environment, the need of the day, was sung by S Malik. Finally, there were dances by women showcasing cultures of eastern, western, northern and southern regions of India.
