Musheerabad: The State president of BC welfare association Jajula Srinivas Goud lambasted the main political parties for not allocating sufficient seats to BCs in the ensuing Parliament elections. He was speaking at a meeting on 'political representation to BCs' at Indira Park Cross Roads on Wednesday.

Addressing the meeting, Srinivas Goud said that the three main political parties TRS, BJP and Congress competed with each other in doing injustice to BCs in terms of seat allocation. He warned that it would be last elections for the political parties which favour only upper castes.

He questioned the parties on how they can give 60 per cent of seats to the community which has only 5 per cent of population while ignoring BC community which constitutes 60 per cent of population. Of the 51 candidates contesting from three major political parties, only nine candidates are from BCs, he lamented.

Telangana state is ahead of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh in terms of injustice done to BCs, he said. While it is BCs who stood in the forefront of Telangana agitation and played a key role in the formation of the state, upper castes are ruling the state, he said.

Only candidates with money power, industrialists, corporate forces, exploiters of education through corporate institutes are being given tickets, instead of giving political representation to all the communities based on their population, he said. He warned that 2019 elections would be last elections for such parties which ignore BCs.

Joint action committee of BC castes chairman Ganesh Chari, president of BC student associations Kulkacharla Srinivas, president of BC student association central committee Thatikonda Vikram Goud, BC leaders Godugu Mahesh, Jajula Lingam Goud, Mallikarjun, Panuganti Vijay, Rambabu, Raju, Saiteja, Rajesh and others were present.
