Hyderabad: Permissions for constructing new houses will be issued faster now. GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore has ordered town planning officers to speed up the process of Development Permission Management System (DPMS) policy to facilitate home construction of below 500 yards in the GHMC limits.
Chief city planner, director of Charminar Project, CPs and ACPs held a review meeting, which was presided over by the Commissioner, on the steps needed to be taken to reduce the time to provide construction permits in the city more easily to the citizens.
On this occasion, Dana Kishore said that about 2,000 house construction plans will be put on the GHMC website for the convenience of those who want to build homes within 500 yards. The commissioner suggested that the construction of houses within 200, 300 and 500 yards home plans to be made available through the DPMS policy and the possibility of providing construction permits in the shortest possible time, as soon as applicants submit the proposals according to the approved home plans.
Town planning officers were ordered to look into the issue of issuing permits within 48 hours from receipt of application. The Commissioner ordered that from May 1 onwards house plans should be put up on the GHMC website.
The officials should clarify the queries of public regarding house plans and constructions. In the city, more than 17,000 building permits are issued each year, of which 80 per cent of the permissions are for constructions within 500 yards, added the Commissioner.
