Kokapet: The 55-acre Kokapet lake is in a pitiable condition, the lake is filled with hyacinth and also nearby areas of the lake has turned into stinking garbage yards. It has become a major concern for the locals residing over here.

Many locals over here complained that because of sewage water discharged into the lake, it's resulting in mosquito menace and the foul smell emancipating from the lake is unbearable, says, Monica, a local.

She further said that nearby locals are stealthily throwing the domestic waste near the lake and thereby it piles up and gives a nasty look. As many lakes under GHMC limits are getting cleaned but no one is concerned to protect or clean the Kokapet lake, says, Suresh, a local.

This lake needs urgent attention, as the residents over here had lodged several complaints with concerned authority to clean the lake but no concrete action has been taken yet.
