Ranga Reddy: With the Southwest Monsoon continuing to be weak over Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday, rain occurred at isolated places, according to the Met department bulletin. While Kondurg in Ranga Reddy district recorded 3 cm of rain, Dindigul in Medchal-Malkajgiri district had 1 cm.

The bulletin said a low-pressure area is very likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood around June 30, which is likely to become more marked and concentrate into a depression during the subsequent 48 hours.

Consequently, the bulletin warned, heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated plated places across Telangana on July 1 and 2. The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places across the State from June 29 to July 2. No large change during the period July 3-5 is the weather outlook.

The current rainfall is being attributed to the persisting upper air cyclonic circulation over the west-central Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra Pradesh-¬south Odisha coasts.
