Mercury levels plummet in Hyderabad

Mercury levels have plummeted in Telangana making the people to experience cold weather conditions. On Tuesday, Hyderabad registered 13.8 degree Celisus and the temperature likely to go down further in next week, according to the weather department.

Lingampally recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 11.8 degree Celsius followed by 12.8 degree Celsius in Rajendranagar, 12.9 degree Celsius in Macha Bollaram while the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 30.1 degree Celsius.

In districts, Adilabad recorded the lowest temperature of 10.6 degree Celsius while the temperature in other districts hovered between 11-18 degree Celsius.

"Currently, easterly winds are prevailing over Telangana which may cause slight nip in the air. In the few days, there will be another western disturbance is likely to occur which may lead to the dip in temperature from third week of December," an official from the Indian Meteorological Department said.
