Moazzam Jahi Market: One of the clocks of the clock tower of Moazzam Jahi Market that faces the junction lost all its clock hands on Wednesday. The commuters were seen watching the clock in amusement, while waiting for the signal at one of the busiest crossroads in the city.

According to locals, the renovation works are going on at the clock tower of Moazzam Jahi Market. An HMT clock with hour bell was also fixed a few months ago, and the clock started to tick again. But on Wednesday, it was found that the hands of the clock facing the junction at the market were missing.

The businesses at the market have demanded the government to come up with a plan to restore the historic monuments in the city, and to give top priority to the Moazzam Jahi Market.

They pointed out that while most of the works at other clock towers are being taken up and completed, why one of the oldest markets in the city and its clock tower remains neglected.

It may be mentioned here that the clock tower was also adopted by Principal Secretary at the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Arvind Kumar last year. The Hans India tried to contact the GHMC officials concerned several times, but there was no response.
