New Sociology department head at Osmania University
Prof P Vishnudev took charge as the head of the OU Sociology Department on Wednesday morning from Prof C Ganesh. Vishnudev, who worked as assistant professor at the university, was promoted as associate professor in 2014 and as a professor in 2017.

He completed a major research project from the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi, on 'Tribal Health: Medicinal and Healing Practices.' His book on Adivasis was brought out by the International Publications of the USA.
He delivered lectures as a visiting professor at the invitation of Tubingen University in Germany. He also worked as the coordinator of the OU Equal Opportunities Cell paving way for training of thousands of students for both central and state government jobs, besides in the railways and banking sectors.
