Officials blamed for poor state of saplings

Toopran: Even as the state government is gearing up for the next phase of Haritha Haram, the already planted saplings are not being protected properly. Even in the constituency of the Chief Minister, the condition of saplings is pathetic, reflecting the negligence of officials.

The saplings and tree guards fell at several places. A farmer lamented that the condition of trees in Toopran municipal limits is the same. He requested authorities to take care of them.

AMC vice-chairman Srisailam Goud said officials should protect the trees and focus on the greenery as the municipality falls under the constituency of Chief Minister. He said any kind of negligence would be taken to the notice of the CM.
