Hyderabad: The nine-day Orientation Training Programme for Principals, Teaching and other staff scheduled from May 3 to 21 has been postponed in view of ZPTCs and MPTCs election duties.

According to a circular issued on Tuesday by TMREIS (Telangana Minority Residential Institutions Society) secretary, B Shafiullah, many PGTs (Post Graduate Teachers) and TGTs (Trained Graduate Teachers) have been drafted for the election duty in connection with the ongoing elections to the ZPTCs and MPTCs across the State.

"Considering the importance of election duties related to the ZPTCs and MPTCs, the scheduled orientation training programme is hereby postponed and the next date of training programme will be intimated later," he stated.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Reservation Front (MRF) which has recently requested TMREIS to postpone the orientation camp until the Holy month of Ramazan, took credit for the development. Appreciating The Hans India for highlighting the issue in its report 'Telangana Minority Residential Institutions Society urged to put off orientation camps' published on April 27, MRF president Mohammed Iftekharuddin Ahmed said that different factors including publication in paper worked out in their favour.

"This would be a great relief to the staff, both regular and outsourced, of TMREIS during the Ramzan," he said. It may be mentioned here that MRF chief wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on April 25, requesting him to postpone the orientation camp in view of holy month of Ramzan which is likely to start from May 6.

In his letter he also referred to the grievances expressed by Zareena Jaleel, a regular TGT teacher in TMREIS where she said that the staff members were very much ready for any task for the sake of students and TMREIS, but due to the month of Ramadan it would be difficult to stay away from home.

It would also be very difficult to join prayers for five times as well as Namaz-e-Taraaweeh at Ashram. Jaleel also said that the women staff needed to look after Seher and Iftar of their family members. They have to arrange Seher and Iftar at home and without them all the family members would have to leave their fasting and Taraweeh, he added.
