Dhoolpet: Adhering to the norms of eco-friendly idols for Ganeshas this year, the artists of Dhoolpet have come up with paper cup Ganesh of about 6-feet which weighs around 15 kg.
Ordered by a resident of Karimnagar district, the unique idol is catching eyeballs of the customers who are visiting the workshops in the area to order some eco-friendly idols this time. "Each year, thousands of Ganesh idols with different height, size and shape are installed.
Since for the past few years the government is encouraging to come up with eco-friendly Ganeshas and a customer from Karimnagar wanted a unique design. Keeping this in mind the Kalakar (artist) Kailash Singh Hazari came up with an idea using paper cups, which is completely eco-friendly," said Manoj Singh Hazari, brother of artist, who is also in this profession.
Speaking to The Hans India Manoj Singh said that, he and his elder brother who is also a micro artist has made a Ganesh idol by using more than 7,000 paper cups within 25 days and it was sold out and will be transported to Karimnagar shortly. "Ours is the fourth generation in this Kalakari. Around 25 year back my father Late Chandu Singh Hazari received attention from across the City for making Khairtabad's Ganesha", he added.
He also said that last year they made a Ganesh idol as if it was sitting on a butterfly with movable wings. This year also they have come up with a unique idea of making Ganesh using paper cup and which is unique in itself. "The credit goes to my brother, who is National awardee for making handicrafts", said Manoj Singh.
