Bagh Lingampally: Leaders of various political parties appealed people to participate in the bandh call given by various political parties in support of striking RTC employees. They were speaking to media, at a press conference held here at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Wednesday.

Professor Kodandaram, president of Telangana Jana Samithi, demanded that the State government call RTC employees for talks to resolve the strike, as per the instructions given by the High Court. He urged people to participate in the 'bandh call' given by the opposition parties on October 19 so as to teach a lesson to dictatorial rule of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Chada Venkat Reddy, CPI leader, criticised the CM for his irresponsible comments against striking RTC employees that 'they were self-dismissed', which caused fear and anxiety leading them to resort to suicides. He urged the CM to intervene personally and take necessary measures to discuss with RTC employees.

RTC JAC chairman Ashwathama Reddy urged the State government to call them for talks as per the instructions of High Court. The comments made by the ministers and CM has complicated the situation, he opined. He said that they have not received any call for discussions from the State government so far. He condemned arrests of RTC union leaders who were protesting in a peaceful and democratic manner.

RTC JAC leader Raji Reddy also spoke on the occasion. Among those who participated in the meeting include CPI ML New Democracy state joint secretary Potu Ranga Rao, leaders Govardhan, CPI leaders Dr Sudhakar, ET Narsimha, M CPI state secretary Tandra Kumar, Vanam Sudhakar and others.
