Nampally: Lavanya, the wife of Chouka Ramesh (42) of Marampalli village in Nizamabad district, who was killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia on April 21 after serving as a driver for the last 10 years, approached the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) here on Thursday, seeking steps to bring his body to the country.

In her plea to the commission, Lavanya said Ramesh was injured in the accident on February 13 and succumbed in hospital after 67 days. She alleged that officials whom she had approached with pleas to bring the body home were 'indifferent', while breaking down along with her two daughters.

Lavanya appealed to the commission to issue orders to the State government to intervene for bringing the body of Ramesh so as to "enable their daughters to see him for the last time."
