Around 200 residents of Gauthami Enclave assembled on Sunday morning at the colony park to receive a sapling each.

Kondapur: Around 200 residents of Gauthami Enclave assembled on Sunday morning at the colony park to receive a sapling each. Gautami Enclave Residents Welfare Association distributed 500 saplings, including100 fruit bearing saplings, to the residents by collecting plastic wastage from home such as water bottles, plastic covers, plastic play toys and many plastic items. GERWA initiated a unique programme Plants for Plastic.

The objective of the programme was to eradicate use of plastic in the colony. Speaking on the occasion, Janardhan Reddy, President, GERWA said, "We take up eco-friendly initiatives and this is one that direction."

GERWA Committee members Krishnamohan Reddy, Keeth, Bharat, Santosh Reddy, Kiran, Srinath Reddy and Colony residents Dilip Kumar, Kalyan Reddy, Jaibharat Reddy, Kishore and Colony residents along with the families participated in the programmme.
