Darushifa: The Salarjung bridge also known as Shivaji bridge has turned hazardous for the motorists, particularly two-wheelers, due to formation of a layer of sludge on the already slippery road.

The bridge is notorious for being greasy during the entire year for its close proximity to the GHMC's major garbage dumping yard. The reason is said to be plying of vehicles from different locations carrying garbage, which sometimes spills over and falls on the road. The passers-by find it difficult to cross the bridge at any given point of time and in case of rainfall it becomes riskier.

The garbage particles from the unguarded vehicles regularly fall off from the containers on all over the road, causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians alike. This is turning the surface of the road sticky, thus posing hazard to the motorists. During rainy seasons in the past, scores of motorists skidded off on the road and locals promptly helped them and provided them with first aid.
