LB Nagar: Residents are scared of the prevailing hot weather and forecasts of heat-wave conditions. Such hot winds are being experienced not only during the day but also at nights. Local people have been warned not to come out of their houses unless it is very necessary.

Doctors have cautioned them to take adequate precautions against heat waves by taking care to drink water. They should make it a point about the food and clothes to wear and fruits to be consumed like watermelon, tender coconut, ice apples and salads. They are elaborately explaining the effects of heat wave on the body.

Narsimha of Abdullapurmet told The Hans India that hot spells like never experienced before were prevailing in the area. People, he said, were afraid to come out of their houses even during the morning hours. 'They are completing any work in the morning itself'.

Ravi of L B Nagar pointed out that roads develop cracks during the Rohini Karthi days. "We are unable to face high temperatures and are not willing to stir out of houses. Everyone must follow the suggestions/precautions given by doctors to protect themselves from heat waves".

There is relief likely from the hot weather, with the Met department officials stating that there was possibility of rain because of the persisting trough from Rayalaseema to the Comorin area across interior Tamil Nadu which is now seen at 1.5 km above the mean sea level. The upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 1.5 km above the mean sea level now lies over Chhattisgarh and adjoining south Odisha.
