Top officials of several State departments at a meeting in GHMC office, with Commissioner Dana Kishore in the chair, on Tuesday decided to work in more coordination to meet the situation arising out of the ensuing monsoon and sudden unforeseen incidents. They also decided to ban all kinds of hoardings in GHMC limits for three months from June 15.

Hyderabad: Top officials of several State departments at a meeting in GHMC office, with Commissioner Dana Kishore in the chair, on Tuesday decided to work in more coordination to meet the situation arising out of the ensuing monsoon and sudden unforeseen incidents. They also decided to ban all kinds of hoardings in GHMC limits for three months from June 15.

The meeting on rain-related incidents was attended by officials of GHMC, HMWSSB, Revenue, Transco, Metro Rail, Met, Irrigation, Fire Services, RTC, Commissionerate officers of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda.

Dana Kishore told the meeting that 195 areas have been identified as prone to inundation. There would be special focus on these areas during the monsoon. He suggested to the officials concerned to inspect manholes and catch-pits in these areas and take steps to prevent silt/waste in nalas. He directed that road-laying works in the city should be completed in a week.

The GHMC Commissioner suggested that all the emergency teams hold a special meeting near Necklace Road and undergo training for working in coordination to meet any situation.

Hyderabad Metro Rail MD N V S Reddy suggested that there were 95 'dangerous' hoardings on the Metro routes. Already all hoardings in HMR have been banned. GHMC Additional Commissioner Advait Kumar Singh pointed out that illegal flexes were being erected on some hoardings. He said orders have been issued to the agencies concerned to remove such hoardings.

Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Anil Kumar suggested that road repairs should be taken up in 150 centres in the Hyderabad City Commissionerate limits. Among those present at the meeting were Cyberabad DCP Vijay Kumar, Hyderabad Joint Collector Ravi, GHMC Enforcement director Vishwajit Kampati.
