G Madhuri Reddy from Telangana stood among top 10 rankers (All India) in the NEET UG 2019 results declared on Wednesday. She secured All India 7th rank overall and was also the All India Topper in female students’ category.

Hyderabad: G Madhuri Reddy from Telangana stood among top 10 rankers (All India) in the NEET UG 2019 results declared on Wednesday. She secured All India 7th rank overall and was also the All India Topper in female students' category.

From Andhra Pradesh, Qureshi Asra got All India 16th rank besides securing All India 3rd rank in female students' category. Both Telugu states fared well in results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), which was conducted for the first time by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Around 39,039 students, who appeared from Andhra Pradesh, qualified in the exam (72.55 per cent), while from Telangana 33,044 students qualified (68.88 per cent). In fact, the qualification percentage of both States was higher than the All India qualification percentage of 56.27. In all, nearly 15.2 lakh students appeared for the exam all over India out of which 7.97 lakh students qualified in the entrance test.

Coming to toppers, Telangana first ranker G Madhuri Reddy got 695 out of 720 marks. The difference between Madhuri (All India 7th rank) and the first ranker (Nalin Khandelwal from New Delhi-701 marks) was just six marks. She aims to become a Cardiologist in the future. She also wrote AIIMS 2019 very well and hoping to get a good rank to secure a seat in the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi.

Her father G Thirupathi Reddy is a software engineer in Hyderabad. Madhuri also secured 5th rank in AP Eamcet 2019. AP Topper Qureshi Asra hails from Proddutur, Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. Her father Zakir Qureshi runs a small business. Asra is awaiting results of AIIMS and JIPMER tests.

She is the second of four children of Qureshi. Her elder sister also got 11th rank in TS Lawcet and is pursuing her third year graduation in Osmania University. Both Madhuri and Asra are students of Narayana, Madhapur branch.

Amgoth Sharath Pawar and E Kushwanth from Hyderabad secured All India first rank (ST category) and All India 8th rank in OBC category, respectively. Both these students pursued education in Chaitanya institutions. Sharath aims to join AIIMS, New Delhi and get into research field in the future.

Kushwanth, who is from a poor financial background hailing from Bhupalpally district wants to become a Neurosurgeon in the future. Kushwant's father passed away but his mother, who is a tailor by profession, ensured her son got good education all along.
