Tributes paid to senior journalist Vijay Kumar
A condolence meeting was held for the senior journalist Vijay Kumar, who recently passed away in a freak accident when he tried to catch an auto driver involved in hit-and-run, at Dharna Chowk on Tuesday.
Musheerabad: A condolence meeting was held for the senior journalist Vijay Kumar, who recently passed away in a freak accident when he tried to catch an auto driver involved in hit-and-run, at Dharna Chowk on Tuesday.
The meeting was organized by journalists' association. Several prominent personalities such as former home minister Naini Narsimha Reddy, Musheerabad MLA Muta Gopal, GHMC standing committee member V Srinivas Reddy, national president of BC welfare association R Krishnaiah, Press Information Bureau director general TVK Reddy, former deputy mayor Raj Kumar and others paid tributes to the journalist at the meeting.
Paying tributes to the departed soul, former Home minister extended his support to the family of the journalist. Muta Gopal said that it was unfortunate that a young journalist lost his life in an attempt help a person. He assured the family of the journalist all the help possible from the government. R Krishnaiah also promised to provide financial assistance to the kin of the journalist.
Corporator Lasya, GHMC standing committee member V Srinivas Reddy, and others expressed their condolences to the departed journalist. Telangana advocate JAC convener P Govardhan Reddy promised to provide free education to the son of Vijay Kumar.
ACP Narsimha Reddy who visited Gandhi Hospital after the accident promised to provide financial assistance the journalist family and as per his promise three police stations under Chikkadpally limits donated Rs 30,000 to the family. Chikkadpally CI Venkat Reddy handed over the cheque to family at the meeting.
