TRS, Congress activists spar over MPP draw

Patancheru: The election of the Jinnaram MPP and vice president by lottery on Friday resulted in a clash between the TRS and the Congress activists, with both sides resorting to stone-pelting. Some persons were allegedly injured in the incident. Lottery to select the MPP had become unavoidable, as both parties secured the same seats.

While the TRS nominee bagged the co-option member's post, the Congress secured the MPP and vice president's posts. Irked by this, the TRS leaders and activists allegedly resorted to provocation of their rival leading to a clash. Intervention of the police restored calm.
