Tarnaka: The ongoing RTC bus strike had its effect on the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Hospital in Tarnaka as the facility is witnessing a big drop in the number of Out-Patient (OP) registrations for the last 10 days.

The hospital which used to get 1,500 to 2,000 OP registrations every day before strike, has received 681 to 700 patients in the last two days. People from different districts across the State like Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Suryapet, Vikarabad and Warangal visit the hospital on a regular basis for routine check-ups and treatments of various ailments.

Superintendent of the TSRTC Hospital, R Venkatramana said that due to the ongoing strikes, a majority of people were avoiding visiting the facility unless emergency situations.

"Instead of spending time on traveling from their respective districts and coming here, the patients find it more convenient to visit the facilities in their districts. Dasara festival is another major reason for the drop in OP registrations. As the bus strikes happened during the Dasara holidays, many patients didn't bother to travel all the way," said Venkatramana.
