After stabilizing his hemoglobin levels, we planned a novel procedure called Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) using Watchman device, as an alternative for anticoagulation. The procedure was done under sedation through a small access in his leg vein and it requires no open heart surgery and is completely safe to use. The procedure lasted for an hour and the patient was discharged in 2 days.

Dr Meeraji Rao, an Interventional Cardiologist, said, "This device has more than 100 thousand implants all over the world. To my knowledge this is only the fourth device in the city.
