Water leaks at bridge under construction
People were surprised when a bridge-cum- barrage under construction started leaking on Sunday. The bridge-cum-barrage is being constructed across the Ghajipur and Buddaram streams with a budget of Rs 9 crore. The works which commenced last year are going on at a snail’s pace.

People who are going towards Zaheerabad, Sadashivpet, Kotpalli and Peddemul are facing hardships due to incompletion of the bridge work. Meanwhile, the inferior quality of works in the construction were surfacing, alleged the villagers.
They said the leakage of water was an example for quality of the construction. They criticised that the construction developed cracks and causing leakages because of negligence by the officials and the contractor.
When The Hans India contacted DE of R&B, Srinivas about the issue, he said that the cracks might not be the reason for the leakage. "We constructed a three-feet long concrete structure at the base. All the works were supervised and no chance of inferior quality," he clarified. He said he would visit the bridge cum of barrage to take stock of the situation.
