Overflowing drain and water stagnation in Vidhyuthnagar has been causing a great distress to people residing in the colony.
Vidyuthnagar: Overflowing drain and water stagnation in Vidhyuthnagar has been causing a great distress to people residing in the colony. Water clogging on the roads and water stagnation at the turnings of streets is a major issue for the residents as it is a reason for the cause of numerous accidents. Though there have been several complaints to GHMC officials, no action has been taken by any officials said residents of Vidhyuthnagar.
Pedestrians and commuters complains about the dirty water sprinkling on them as the vehicles pass by, situation is much worse in the rainy season as the slop of the road is very low says residents.
"Roads have to be resurfaced frequently to avoid pothole formation. Apart from this, potholes are formed due to water leakage, digging due to laying of optical fiber cables, fault repair and others. Water stagnation is also a problem owing to drainage blockage, things must be planned or if not planned before a simple rectification team must be there to resolve this issues." said Santhosh Kumar, Founder of Truthmining, a resident.
"Overflowing drain and water stagnation are the major issue which we complain every time, this complaint is ragging since years. We complained to GHMC several times, but no action has been taken. We are truly disappointed for the negligence, " says Kunal, a resident of Sai Nilayam apartments.
"Water stagnation absolutely in front of my home is making our lives miserable. We can't come out and enjoy fresh air in the evenings and worried about our health as this stagnation of water turning as home for mosquitoes and other insects.
We couldn't go for a walk and couldn't open our doors. We could not have a proper breath. We complained all this issues to GHMC officials and no one bothers about this issue," said Pradeep, resident of Vidhyuthnagar.
