Khammam: Suspecting fidelity, a newly-married man killed his wife brutally and tried to show it as suicide at Kothalankapalli village hill area in Penuballi mandal of the district. However, the truth came out during police investigation. The incident took place on Tuesday early morning, but came to light on Friday.

According to Police, Yerramala Nagaseshu Reddy of Ayyavarigudem village in Yerrupalem mandal married his close relative Navya (22) two months ago. While Reddy was employed in Mumbai, Navya was pursuing B Tech second year at a private engineering college in Gangaram village near Sathupally town.

Reddy suspected his wife's fidelity and this caused bad blood between them. Reddy, who wanted to kill Navya, took her to Kothapalli village hill area in Penuballi mandal on Tuesday early morning on his motorbike and sedated her.

Later, he strangled her with a cloth and hanged her to a tree. After that, Reddy sent a text message to Navya's father through her phone stating that she was taking the extreme step as she was feared to clear her backlogs of engineering course.

After that, Reddy went back to his village and lodged a missing complaint with Yerrupalem police. The police who took up the investigation examined the CCTV footage at Kuppenakuntla village in Penuballi mandal and noticed Reddy taking his wife on a bike.

Police arrested Nagaseshu Reddy who during interrogation admitted to his crime. Further investigation in the case is underway.
