Tirupati: In recognition to its qualitative services, the TTD Pilgrim Complex, Vishnu Nivasam, located in the heart of the temple city of Tirupati, won the certificate of International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
This certificate was presented to TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal by ISO Director Karthikeyan in the former's chamber in TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati on Thursday.
The ISO Director appreciated the efforts put up by TTD in providing qualitative services to devotees maintaining all standard parameters in spite of the visit of multitude of pilgrims daily from across the country.
Later Tirupati JEO B Lakshmikantham said the ISO team made three visits to Vishnu Nivasam in the last 20 days. During their first visit they have offered their inputs, directions and the non-negotiable parameters, while in their second visit they did mid-term evaluation and finally they made a surprise visit to check whether the TTD has been following all the standard parameters or not at Vishnu Nivasam.
During a brief session with a select senior officers of TTD in Conference Hall in TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati here on Thursday, he said, ISO certification implies that the TTD is following high standards in the maintenance of its pilgrim amenities complexes and rest houses.
He said the ISO formed on February 23 in 1947, operates in over 160 countries. It has 20,000 standards and 10 non-negotiable indicators. This ISO certificate to Vishnu Nivasam Rest House is first of its kind in TTD.
This should be an inspiration to all the other departments and especially the hospitals and educational institutions of TTD to provide quality services to patients and pupils respectively, he maintained.
Adding further, the JEO said "I whole-heartedly congratulate all the departments who made this happen in Vishnu Nivasam and setting an example to others in improving their standards. Next three hospitals including BIRRD, Central Hospital and Ayurvedic Hospital and three educational institutions with two Junior Colleges and Balamandir should gear up for this prestigious recognition," the JEO said to the officials concerned.
Later the ISO Director B Karthikeyan also lauded the services being rendered by TTD employees at Vishnu Nivasam. "The initiative by JEO B Lakshmikantham is extraordinary and the team work by TTD employees is outstanding. There is always scope for more improvement in your respective areas," he maintained. TTD Chief Engineer Ch Chandra Sekhar Reddy, FACAO O Balaji, other officers and Principals of various TTD colleges were also present.
