The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority initiated a programme ‘Andhra Pradesh Destination Specialist’, a masters training programme for visually challenged students as part of the World Tourism Day 2019.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority initiated a programme 'Andhra Pradesh Destination Specialist', a masters training programme for visually challenged students as part of the World Tourism Day 2019.

The training programme will be conducted at Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority Office at Auto Nagar here from March 27 to 29 from between 10 am and 1 pm. The theme 'Tourism and Jobs: A better Future for all', is initiated by United Nations World Tourism Organisation– to emphasise this mission-based approach towards the development of tourism.

In this regard, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority in association with LV Prasad Eye Institute, Vijayawada would conduct the 3-day training. Speaking on this occasion, Vijaya Krishnan, CEO APTA said, "Our aspiration is to turn Andhra Pradesh most preferred tourist destination of the country. We are initiating numerous programmes to expand State's tourism which are authenticate, reliable, sustained and attract tourists, investors as well since Andhra Pradesh is a prospective state and nestled with cherishing beauties.

The objective of the training is to enhance tourism in the state through sensitising the people and acknowledge their valued contribution for 'Atidhi Devo Bhava' and also to facilitate Certificate Course in Tourism for securing employability skills set to get employed in tourism and service sectors for visually challenged / partially blind/ low visibility students.
