Doctor murdered in Avanigadda

Vijayawada: Noted doctor in Avanigadda village of Krishna district Dr Kota Srihari Rao of Lakshmi Nursing Home was brutally murdered by unidentified persons at his residence on Saturday.

His body was found in a pool of blood inside his bedroom on the premises of the nursing home. The incident took place when his family members had gone out of station.

On information, Avanigadda DSP Mahaboob Basha and Circle Inspector Ravi Kumar visited the spot and inspected the scene of offence. The DSP said the culprits tactfully changed the direction of the CC camera to hide their identity.

The DSP suspected it was cold blooded murder by known persons. Krishna District Superintendent of Police M Ravindranath Babu said that a clues team was pressed into service and four special teams were formed to investigate the case.

He has appealed to the people to provide information to the police on the murder and stated that their identity would not be revealed. He said the four teams would work under the supervision of Avanigadda DSP Mahaboob Basha.

The special branch teams as part of the investigation questioned the family members, hospital staff and other local persons to crack the case.
