Officials close 2 unrecognised schools

Vijayawada: Krishna District Education Officer MV Rajya Lakshmi conducted surprise checks of unrecognised schools and closed two schools on Thursday. Accompanied by Deputy Educational Officer and Mandal Educational Officers, she visited Oxford English Medium School at Ramavarappadu which was conducting classes in an apartment and seized that school for not having recognition.

Later, they visited Ravindra Bharati Next Gen School at Tulasinagar and also seized it as the school had no recognition. They also visited Akshara School at Ashok Nagar, Bandar Road and warned them for not renewing school recognition and gave two days time as they were shifting the school premises.

Speaking to media, Rajya Lakshmi said that the parents should be aware of the recognition of the school before joining their children in the schools. She said that they will continue checks and would seize all the schools which are not having recognition or proper facilities as per the norms. She warned the private and corporate schools which are running without recognition to face the consequences.
