Vijayawada: Education minister Audimulapu Suresh said on Saturday that classes for Class VIII students would begin on November 23. He said so far the classes were being conducted for students of Classes IX and X from November 2. In a press release, the minister said the percentage of attendance is gradually increasing in the schools with the willingness being shown by parents to send their children to the schools.

He said the students of the Classes VIII and IX have to attend the school in alternate days while Class X students attend daily. He said steps were being taken to conduct classes to the students of Classes VII and Class VI from December 14. He further said the education department would take further decision on conducting classes to the primary schoolchildren from Class I to V basing on the response of the parents.

The minister said that the classes will be held from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm from November 23 due to winter. It may be noted that the classes are being conducted as per the Covid-19 guidelines in the schools and students and staff are attending the schools with masks.
