YSRCP seeks CBI probe into death of Y S Vivekananda Reddy

Vijayawada: YSRCP official spokesperson and former MLA Velampalli Srinivas demanded a CBI probe into the suspicious death of former Minister and senior YSRCP leader Y S Vivekananda Reddy.

Addressing a media conference at the State party office here on Friday, Velampalli alleged that a plot was hatched to eliminate the former Minister. He further alleged that the ruling TDP had hatched the conspiracy. He said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) announced by the State government to conduct a probe into the death will be of no use.

He said the SIT formed earlier by the TDP government in earlier cases also failed in their investigation. He alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu several times warned that he would finish the Opposition leader and added that the TDP was responsible for the death of Vivekananda Reddy.

Former MLA Malladi Vishnu said that the State government alleged that Minister Adinarayana Reddy was behind the murder of Vivekananda Reddy. He alleged that the TDP was eliminating leaders of the Opposition after resorting to deletion of names of sympathisers of YSRCP from the voters list. He demanded intervention of the Central government into the incidents of brutal murders taking place in AP.
