Visakhapatnam: Vandalism of the 400-year-old idol of Lord Rama at Ramateertham temple in Vizianagaram indicates the attack on Hindu tradition and culture, BJP leader and former MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju said. Staging a protest along with the BJP activists and leaders at Gandhi statue opposite GVMC office here on Thursday, he said no other Chief Minister in the country has so many cases against him like the CM of Andhra Pradesh.

"Those who oppose the government are often threatened to be arrested or attacked or murdered. A sense of fear is gripping among people across the state. Such insecurity never prevailed in the state earlier," he mentioned.

Referring to the 'indecent' remark made by one of the ministers on Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, the BJP leader said it reflects to what extent the ruling government has stooped low. "People feel unsafe in the state government's rule. Given the recent incidents in temples, it is very clear that the YSRCP is against the Hindus," the former MLA pointed out.
