The annual Navy Day maneuvers to mark India's victory over Pakistan have been modest this year. India was victorious on December 4, with warships leaving the east coast capturing the port of Karachi. To mark the occasion, a large number of Indian Navy Day maneuvers are held annually at the Visakhapatnam Open Eastern Fleet. But this year no maneuvers were held in the wake of the covid‌ regulations.

While on the evening of December 4, the authorities decide to continue Navy Day by decorating the warships with electric lights across the coast of Visakhapatnam. At this stage, Vice Admiral Jain, Chief of the Eastern Naval Staff, laid a wreath at the Victory at Sea statue at Visakhapatnam Beach and paid tributes to the martyrs.

On this occasion he stated that I myself was always ready to face any situation with the enemy.
