Call to take up 30-day action plan on mission mode
Plans are afoot to implement the 30-day special action plan of the State government, aimed at transforming the villages, in mission mode, and put the Warangal Urban District on top of the State chart, Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said. In a preparatory meeting here on Wednesday, the Collector briefed the components of the 30-day action plan to the officials concerned.

In a preparatory meeting here on Wednesday, the Collector briefed the components of the 30-day action plan to the officials concerned.
He directed the officials to convene gram sabhas at 8 am on Friday (September 6) and announce the components of the action plan rolled out by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, involving people's participation and their suggestions for the action plan.
"The officials need to focus on sanitation, greenery and the power week, some of the key components of the action plan," Patil said. As part of the action plan, the administration is to focus on cleaning up of government buildings, repairing drains, cleaning drainages, identifying land for dumping yards, solving electricity-related issues, dismantling of dilapidated houses etc.
The onus is on sarpanches and panchayat secretaries to protect the saplings to a minimum of 85 per cent, he said. He directed the officials to complete the process of electing co-option members and standing committee members as per the guidelines of the act, so that to involve them in the action plan.
The Collector said that stringent action would be taken against special officers and panchayat secretaries if they fail to implement the action plan in a proper manner. MPDOs need to inspect at least three gram panchayats (GPs) and participate in the programmes, he said.
"Even a tiny gram panchayat would have facility to avail Rs 32 lakh funds per annum for carrying the action plan, the Collector said. Panchayats need to spend on 10 per cent of funds for green budget and 15 per cent on sanitation, he said. The gram panchayats can employ sanitation workers based on their population. Two
workers for those GPs under the population of 500, three for up to 1,000 population, four for up to 1,500 population and five for up to 2,000 population, he added. CPO Z Ramdas, ZP CEO Prasoona Ran, DRDO Ramu and divisional panchayat officer Laxmi Ramakanth were among others present.
