- The financial assistance provided under BC Bandhu is only a grant and beneficiries do not need to pay again, he says
Sircilla: The grant of Rs one lakh for BC and MBC castes will not stop with 600 people but will be continued till every eligible person gets financial assistance, said Municipal and IT Minister KT Rama Rao.
He distributed BC Bandhu cheques to 600 beneficiaries in the form of a grant of Rs one lakh to BC and MBC castes in Sircilla and Vemulawada constituencies here on Tuesday. The past nine years has been a golden era for welfare of the poor
Chief Minister KCR has taken many welfare programmes starting from the KCR kit given at birth to Aasara pensions given in old age. The state government has implemented many programs to help the poor.
The Chief Minister introduced Dalit Bandhu with the intention of breaking the poverty and make Dalits rich. A grant scheme of Rs one lakh has been introduced for BC and MBC caste professions for the upliftment of the downtrodden sections of the BCs, he said.
Chief Minister KCR, he said, is a kind hearted person who provided Kalyana Lakshmi to 12 lakh girls across the state for the marriage of poor girls. The Chief Minister is going to start a medical college in Sircilla soon. Treatment for all diseases will be provided and 150 doctors will be available continuously, Rama Rao said.
He said that the financial assistance provided under BC Bandhu is only a grant and you do not need to pay again. Financial assistance for the construction of houses under Gruha Lakshmi will be given at the rate of 3,000 per constituency, and it will start from Tuesday in the district.
A leader like KCR should be brought back to power, the minister said adding that he does not have the habit of distributing liquor and money during elections and that he will serve the people of the constituency as a younger brother, elder brother and child if the people of Sircilla supports him.
Zilla Praja Parishad Chairperson Nyalakonda Aruna Raghava Reddy, Vemulawada MLA Ramesh Babu, State Power Loom, Textile Development Corporation Chairman Guduri Praveen, Tescob Chairman Konduri Ravinder, CESS Chairman Chikkala Rama Rao, Municipal Chairperson Jindam Kala Chakrapani, Rama Anuthirapu Madhavi and others present.
Later in the day minister Rama Rao held a review meeting with MPPs, ZPTCs, Councillors, CESS Directors and District Officers on Gruha Lakshmi Scheme. Grilahakshmi scheme guidelines are clear and a house-to-house survey in Sircilla Municipality revealed that there are 2,800 homeless poor people.
He said that double bedroom houses have already been granted to 2, 000 of them. As houses have already been sanctioned at the rate of 3,000 per constituency under the Gruha Lakshi scheme the local public representatives and officials should work as a team work, all the villages of the district should be inspected at the field level and those who are living in huts should be identified and houses should be sanctioned.
Those who live in huts and those who have dilapidated houses should be given first priority in the grant of houses. Also, the government will complete the loan waiver process within 40 days, the minister said.
