Warangal: JACTO-USPC demands teachers promotions
The Joint Action Committee of Teachers' Organisation (JACTO) and Upadhyaya Sanghala Porata Committee (USPC) to exert pressure on the State government to resolve their pending issues, especially promotions and transfers.
Warangal: The Joint Action Committee of Teachers' Organisation (JACTO) and Upadhyaya Sanghala Porata Committee (USPC) to exert pressure on the State government to resolve their pending issues, especially promotions and transfers. The leaders of the JACTO, an umbrella body of STU, TSUTF, TPTF, DTF and MSTF, which met here on Friday, criticised the government for not fulfilling its assurances over the years. They said that the government totally ignored their justifiable demands.
JACTO-USPC State Steering Committee leaders T Linga Reddy and M Srinivasulu said that there were no promotions of teachers for the last five years. There was no effort on part of the government to resolve the issue, they added.
It may be mentioned here that the JACTO has been urging the government to allow inter-district and inter-State transfers of teachers, and filling of vacant posts. This apart, the government has to take initiative to release schedule for promotions of teachers in posts like headmasters, upgraded pundits and PETs, besides allowing the general transfers.
Despite several representations, the government has least concern towards the teachers' issues, the leaders said, referring to their Maha Dharna. It may be recalled here that JACTO-USPC called for Maha Dharna in Hyderabad on December 29 to exert pressure on the government in achieving their goal. The leaders appealed to teachers to attend the dharna in large numbers so as to exert pressure on the government.
JACTO-USPC State leaders K Somasekhar, M Bala Kumar, Warangal Urban and Rural district leaders A Sadaiah, B Venkat Reddy, V Someshwar Rao, K Srinivas, G Venkateshwarlu, K Devadasu, Pendem Raju, Rambabu, Ch Ravinder Raju, T Sudarshanam, D Mahender Reddy, Raghupathi Reddy, Laxmipathy, K Bhogeshwar, T Karunakar and Sudhakar Reddy were among others present.
