Warangal: TRS is targeting Reddys says Uttam Kumar Reddy
TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy lashes out at the TRS government for foisting false cases against Jangaon DCC president and former Warangal DCCB chairman Janga Raghava Reddy
Warangal: TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy has come down heavily on the TRS government for foisting false cases against Jangaon DCC president and former Warangal DCCB chairman Janga Raghava Reddy. Leading a protest here on Saturday, he accused the Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao of resorting to vindictive politics. "Errabelli is behind the arrest of Raghava Reddy," he alleged.
Errabelli conspired to oust Raghava Reddy from the DCCB Chairman post, Uttam alleged. Further, Uttam accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Errabelli of targeting the Reddy community leaders. "Madikonda Inspector used abusive language against the Reddys while arresting Raghava Reddy.
The police also misbehaved with Raghava Reddy's family members besides setting haystack ablaze. Instead of playing to the tunes of the ruling party, the police need to uphold the democratic values by working within the sphere of the constitution," Uttam said.
Despite the TRS government's vindictive politics, the Congress will protect its cadres, he said, condemning the arrest of Raghava Reddy. The TRS rule is nothing short of Razakars' atrocities, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said. He expressed confidence that Congress will return to power ending the atrocious rule of TRS.
He then warned KCR and Errabelli not to target Congress cadres, especially Reddys. We will launch State-wide protests if the TRS leaders fail to mend their ways, he warned. The aim of the ruling TRS is to weaken Congress by foisting false cases, Mahila Congress National General Secretary and Mulugu MLA Seethakka said, referring to the arrest of Raghava Reddy. "It's not fair to stifle the voice of Opposition," Seethakka said.
Former MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao urged the police to maintain the decorum. Warangal DCC President Naini Rajender Reddy said that the TRS government has been creating terror among the people. He urged the Commissioner of Police P Pramod Kumar to take stringent action against the police officials who misbehaved with Raghava Reddy's family members.
Uttam, Komatireddy and Seethakka met Raghava Reddy in the Warangal Central prison during the mulakaat. With the Congress cadres turning to Central Prison in huge numbers, traffic came to a grinding halt on the main road. Earlier, the police tried to obstruct Komatireddy Venkat Reddy who was on his way to Warangal at Komalla toll gate to take part in the protest.
Former MPs Sircilla Rajaiah, P Balaram Naik, TPCC Secretary Meesala Prakash, former Mayor Errabelli Swarna and Padi Kaushik Reddy were among others present. Later, the leaders met the Commissioner of Police P Pramod Kumar and submitted a memorandum to him to probe into the arrest of Raghava Reddy.
