The accused identified as Tamatte (27), a rowdy sheeter, who belongs to Chikkabanavara town in North taluk of Bengaluru. On February 24th, the accused along with 13 others broken into a house under Kudur police station limits and flew away with valuables.

Over the incident, the police have arrested eight members, including Tamatte. As part of the investigation, the accused was taken to the crime spot, where he requested the police to stop the vehicle so that he may attend nature call.

Believing, the police stopped near Sulikere road at Kengeri, where Tamatte got down the vehicle along with constable Veerabadra. The accused pretended to urinate and attacked constable with a stone on his head and tried to escape from the scene. Immediately, the Inspector becomes alert and shot him on his leg.

With the gunshot, Tamatte collapsed on the ground and police took him into their custody. Later, he and the injured constable were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
