Two families commit suicide in TN
A housewife has committed suicide along with her three daughters as her husband became addicted to alcohol.
Chennai: A housewife has committed suicide along with her three daughters as her husband became addicted to alcohol. In another incident, a woman consumed poison with her daughters over unable to bear the financial crisis after the death of her husband.
In these two tragic events, six people have lost their lives, and two are said to be in critical condition. These incidents happened in Tamil Nadu.
Going into details, Manikanthan (38), his wife Sathyavathi (29) reside at Virudhachalam in Cuddalore district along with their three daughters Akshaya (6), Nandini (4), and Darshini (2). The family head Manikanthan has become addicted to alcohol, and there was frequent quarrelling between the couple.
On September 24th, a heated argument has taken place between the couple, where Sathyavathi left to her parent's house. Satyavati's mother convinced her and sent back to her husband's place on last Wednesday.
Satyavati, who does not want to return to her husband, got down the bus in the middle along with her daughters. Around 6 pm, she jumped into the canal with her children.
In the incident, mother Sathyavathi was found in an unconscious state, Akshaya and Nandini lost their lives. The last daughter Darshini washed away in the water. The rescue teams are conducting search operations to trace the girl.
In another incident, a woman Lakshmi (36) and her three daughters Anusuya (18), Aishwarya (16), and Akshaya (10) and native of Bodinayakanur in Theni district.
Lakshmi's husband, Palpandi died two years ago due to illness. After the death of her husband's death, the financial crisis surrounded the family. Over unable to bear the problems, Lakshmi consumed poison by mixing in coffee and later gave it to her three daughters on Thursday.
As the family was not seen coming out, the locals knocked on the door, which was locked from inside. With this, they broke open the door and found four lying on the ground.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and rushed the victims to the hospital. While undergoing treatment, Aishwarya and Anusuya died, and mother Lakshmi, and Akshaya conditions said to be serious.
