Two held over rape attempt on foreign woman in Kochi

Kochi: The police have arrested two men who attempted to rape a foreign woman in Kochi.

Going into details, a woman belongs to Thailand, came to Kochi to see her son, who is studying at a college in Malappuram. A Kerala man Mohammed Insaf is taking care of the boy. In this context, she informed him to make the arrangements for her trip. Taking advantage of this, Insaf conspired to gang rape the woman with the help of his friend Ansari.

Beliving him, the woman landed in Kerala and checked-in at a hotel. Later that day, along with Mohammed Insaf she went to the college and met her son.

After spending some time, she returned to the hotel and was getting ready to fly back to Thailand. Mohammed Insaf, who was present in the hotel called Ansari to come into the room.

When he came into the room, Insaf introduced him to the woman as his friend, and both tried to gang-rape her. Somehow, the woman managed to escape from them and approached the hotel management.

Immediately, with the help of the hotel management, she lodged a complaint with Ernakulam Central Police Station. On receiving the information, the police registered a case, arrested the accused and investigating further.
