The Maharashtra Government formation drama seems to have taken another twist with Devendra Fadnavis resigning from his post.

Mumbai: Less than an hour after reports surfaced about NCP's Ajit Pawar resigning from the post of Deputy CM, Devendra Fadnavis who was sworn in as the Chief Minister has quit too. The leader said he didn't have enough majority to continue.

Devendra Fadnavis's decision to quit is a major twits in the drama. He took over as chief minister on Saturday and resigned promptly after his deputy CM and NCP chief Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar. This could be a major setback for BJP in the state of Maharashtra.

Ajit Pawar stunned the NCP and went against the party's wished by forming an alliance in a midnight coup with the BJP. Fadnavis returned to power for the second term but resigned just a day before the floor test ordered by the Supreme Court this morning.

The floor test is going to be video graphed as per the SC's orders and will be conducted after 5 PM tomorrow, 27 November. The SC ruled in favour of the petitioners and allowed for a floor test that will be held tomorrow.
