The coronavirus tally in India climbed to 1,06,750 with the country recording the highest single day spike in 24 hours. 5,611 new cases and 140 deaths were recorded in 24 hours per the data put out by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The countrywide death toll due to coronavirus has now risen to 3,303.

Maharashtra continued to report high numbers and recorded 2,127 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday. The total count in the state has now surged to 37,136—a third of the aal-India tally—with the death toll due to the pandemic rising to 1,325.

Mumbai reported 1411 new coronavirus positive cases on Tuesday. With these fresh cases, the tally in the maximum city has now climbed to 22,563. Mumbai reported 43 deaths in a day over the last 24 hours and with this the death toll in the maximum city had climbed to 800.

Tamil Nadu has reported 12,448 confirmed cases of coronavirus with a low death rate of 84. Gujarat has also been reporting high numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases with the total now rising to 12,140. The death toll in the western state has been significantly high with 719 fatalities.

Delhi has reported 10,554 cases of COVID-19 with 168 deaths.

Rajasthan's total count of Coronavirus positive cases now stands at 5845 with 143 deaths. Madhya Pradesh has also been reporting high numbers of confirmed coronavirus cases with the total now climbing to 5465 and a high death rate of 258 fatalities.
